New Delhi, June 5 (IANS) A woman allegedly drowned both her children and then hung herself at her east Delhi home, police said Wednesday. No suicide note was found.
Sarita, 30, first drowned her six-year-old daughter in a washing machine and then dunked her 11-month-old son in a bucket of water. She then hanged herself on the first floor of their two-storey house in Mandawali area, said a police officer.
Her elderly mother-in-law was on the ground floor at the time.
The bodies were found when her husband Devendra Yadav came home in the afternoon and found the door bolted from inside. When no one answered the door despite repeated knocking, he broke in and found the three bodies.
“It appears like suicide as the door was locked from inside but we are looking at all the angles,” the officer said.
According to a neighbour, there was a heated argument between the couple late Tuesday.
