New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) The Delhi Police spoke to former Indian cricket board secretary Sanjay Jagdale here Monday to understand the revenue model of the IPL tournament in connection with the spot fixing scam they are probing, official sources said.
“We called Jagdale here to get an idea about BCCI’s role in the agreement between team Rajasthan Royals, the board and the cricketers as the agreement is a tripartite one,” sources said.
Delhi Police have also called IPL CEO Sundar Raman, along with Jagdale, as part of their information-gathering effort.
Rajasthan Royals had filed a complaint against its three arrested players – S. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan – for breach of contract as they were allegedly involved in spot fixing in the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).
“He was not called for questioning. We wanted to understand certain things,” a police officer said.
Senior Delhi Police officers investigating the spot fixing scandal met with Jagdale and Raman at Delhi’s Maurya Sheraton Hotel.
“During the talks for information on the tripartite agreement, Jagdale and Raman were confronted with each other. Delhi Police officers talked to them for around two-and-a-half hours,” the officer said.
“As it was an information gathering session, Jagdale and Raman were not ready to come to Delhi Police Special Cell office. They agreed to come to the Maurya Sheraton Hotel,” the officer added.
