Ranchi, June 18 (IANS) Jharkhand Congress president Sukhdeo Bhagat Tuesday said the central leaders of the party would decide on issues like formation of a government in the state and whether any alliance has to be forged for the upcoming polls.
“The local leaders of the state are against any form of alliance with any party in the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls. Now it is up to the central leaders to decide about cementing alliance with any regional party,” said Bhagat at a press conference here.
Asked about formation of the government, he said the state unit has apprised the central party leaders of the situation prevailing in the state and it is they who will take a decision.
Asked about the progress of development works under president’s rule, Bhagat said: “The development work is not taking place as expected. The reason is that the previous government had posted officials, considering their loyalty, not efficiency.”
Jharkhand is under president’s rule since Jan 18 this year after Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) withdrew support from the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Arjun Munda government Jan 8.
