Be polite, respectful: Caroline Winberg tells models

Stockholm, June 18 (IANS) Supermodel Caroline Winberg says models need to be professional to everyone if they really want to survive in the fashion industry.

The 28-year-old also feels that models should have the ability to remain polite and respectful at all times.

“I think it’s important to always keep professional and surround yourself with good people, work hard and be nice to everyone,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Winberg as saying.

“I thought I was probably going to work as a model for a year. Then I’ve seen that people, who used to be the assistants of the assistants, are now maybe the main photographer. I think it’s important to treat everyone with respect. Everyone is there to do their job and you can’t forget that,” she added.

The supermodel, who is the host of reality TV show “Sweden’s Next Top Model”, said she spends her spare time playing sports.

“I play a lot of sports. I played football for 12 years, I like tennis, I surf, I snowboard, and I ski. I always like to do an activity.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve been doing loads of sport. That keeps me going because I’m not the kind of person who doesn’t like going to the gym. I really enjoy it. It makes you able to eat whatever you want and I don’t like to be on a diet because it makes me really grumpy,” she added.

Winberg, one of the three mentors on TV show “The Face” Britain alongside models Naomi Cambell and Erin O’Connor, also favours natural.

“I think to keep it simple. Especially when you go around the world and see girls who have a more natural kind of look. You can always enhance your natural beauty, you learn what works for your face because crazy make-up doesn’t really suit anyone,” she added.

“The Face” is set to go on air this autumn.
