New Delhi, May 24 (IANS) His grandfather Raj Kapoor is adored in Russia, and now Ranbir Kapoor’s forthcoming film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” is being lined up for release there in July.
The movie is likely to hit screens in Russia July 4.
Eros International will release the movie, as well as six other films in the country post the success of “Cocktail” there. The lot includes “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, “Rockstar”, “Desi Boyz”, “Student of the Year”, “Vicky Donor” and “Bhoot Returns 3D”, apart from “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”.
“Based on the substantial response that ‘Cocktail’ generated in Kyrgyzstan and another CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) country, we are expecting a huge response from the Russian market,” Kumar Ahuja, president, business development, Eros International, said in a statement.
“Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, directed by Ayan Mukerji, will be the first of the lot to release.
“Dates for the other films are being worked upon. The dubbing process will start shortly,” added Ahuja.
Eros also plans to promote their films in Russia alongside the release.
“The actors have shown interest in promoting the films there. So we might consider sending them. The Kapoor family has enjoyed a long-standing personal and professional relationship with the Russians. So after Raj and Rishi Kapoor, it is Ranbir who is taking this tradition forward,” said Ahuja.
