Kolkata, May 25 (IANS) Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s fans have twin reasons to celebrate this weekend.
On Friday, Mumbai Indians clinched a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final by defeating Rajasthan Royals. The day also coincided with Tendulkar’s 18th wedding anniversary.
Besides the usual cheers for Indians qualifying to the finals, netizens have been pouring out their heart to congratulate Sachin and his wife Anjali, who tied the knot May 24, 1995, after dating for five years.
On the Facebook page ‘Mumbai Indians – We will Rock the World’, links have been posted relating to the couple’s saga of love at first sight.
“You are my role model in love also,” wrote a Tendulkar fan.
With hundreds of ‘Likes’ and counting, photographs of the duo in their wedding ensemble are a hit on the site.
Twitterati chirped away compliments to the “cute couple” punctuated with arrays of heart shaped emoticons.
Tweets like “Happy wedding anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Tendulkar,” and “A very happy 18th wedding anniversary to you and Anjali. You are a cute couple and looking so gorgeous. Keep smiling forever,” ruled the roost on the microblogging platform.
Mumbai Indians gear up to take on mighty Chennai Super Kings in the final of the sixth edition of the IPL Sunday.
However, Tendulkar continues to nurse wrist and hand injuries, and is unlikely to take the field.
