Washington, May 1 (IANS) Three more suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing have been taken into custody, Boston police said Wednesday, but assured people that “there is no threat to the public”.
CNN citing a Department of Homeland security source said all three are students, including one who is a US citizen.
“They have been arrested on charges of making false statements to investigators and conspiracy to obstruct justice,” it said.
Boston police added via Twitter: “Please be advised there is no threat to the public.”
Federal agents already have accused two brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, of carrying out the attack. Tamerlan died after a shootout with police, and Dzhokhar is in custody.
Three people were killed and more than 260 wounded in the April 15 twin bomb explosions near the finish line of the marathon.
