Baghdad, May 11 (IANS) At least three people were killed and over 100 others wounded Saturday when a militant drove an explosives-laden tanker truck into the house of an intelligence officer in Iraq, a media report said.
The attack took place around midday in northern province of Salahudin, Xinhua reported.
The assailant rammed the tanker truck into the house of Brigadier General Ismail al-Jubouri in Shirqat, some 280 km north of Baghdad, an official said.
Jubouri, an intelligence official in the northern province of Nineveh, escaped the attack unharmed, but the blast killed his two sons and a nephew and wounded more than 100 others, many of whom were school children.
The huge blast destroyed Jubouri’s house, four nearby houses and a primary school building.
Many cars were also left charred at the scene.
