Ratnakar Bank plans pan-India presence

Chennai, May 13 (IANS) In its endeavour to have a pan-India presence, Maharashtra-based private sector Ratnakar Bank opened its first branch in Tamil Nadu Monday, the bank said.

In a statement issued here, the bank said it is implementing an aggressive growth plan based on a robust platform of technology infrastructure, geographic expansion, high quality capital amongst others.

“As part of our expansion strategy, we intend to grow our presence across many more centres in Tamil Nadu. Our first branch in Chennai signifies the bank’s entry into the state and is an important landmark in our transformational journey,” the bank’s CEO and MD Vishwavir Ahuja was quoted as saying in the statement.

“It is a state of art lounge branch, using tablets instead of desktops which help increase the mobility of the branch staff to address customer’s banking needs in a relaxed environment and provide them with end-to-end service within the branch,” he said.

The bank said it is growing rapidly in regions like Gujarat, the National Capital Region, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and the union territory of Daman and Diu.
