Chennai, May 19 (IANS) Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N. Srinivasan Sunday announced that all player-agents will henceforth be accredited in the IPL and ICC anti-corruption officials will be travelling with each team along with a security officer.
“The committee decided that all player-agents have to be accredited with the BCCI. An Anti-Corruption Special Unit (ACSU) official (of the ICC) will travel with the team. Access to players will be monitored closely,” Srinivasan told in a press conference here after an emergency meeting of the BCCI.
The meeting was held in the wake of the arrest of three players of the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals on charges of spot-fixing. Eleven bookies were also arrested by the Delhi Police which had been monitoring the scam for some time.
Srinivasan said there will be limited access allowed to the players and all movement will be monitored.
