New Delhi, May 11 (IANS) The ministry of science and technology and earth sciences is set to have its online submission and tracking system of all competitive grant proposals in place within few months, Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences S. Jaipal Reddy said Saturday.
“This system will help in greater transparency and it will come up in few months,” he said.
He was addressing at a National Technology Day event here. The function was organised by the Technology Development Board – Department of Science and Technology.
T. Ramasami, secretary, department of science and technology, explained that research fellows often lose tracks of their proposals, which are there with the ministries for grant approval for long time. This online system will help them track the status of their proposals easily.
Usually it takes around nine months to a year’s time for a grant proposal to get approval.
The software is being prepared by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) and he expects it to be ready very soon.
