Rome, May 6 (IANS) Juventus has retained their Serie A title following a 1-0 win over Palermo at home.
Midfielder Arturo Vidal converted a penalty (59th minute) to help the hosts wrap up the title Sunday. The victory lifts Juve 14 points clear of nearest challengers Napoli, who beat Inter Milan 3-1 later but can no longer catch the pacesetters with only three rounds of matches left after this weekend, reports Xinhua.
Antonio Conte’s side strode to success in style after amassing eight consecutive wins, a better run than any other team in Serie A has managed this season. Their latest triumph, their 29th Serie A title, extends their lead as the most successful side in Italian football with Inter and Milan both way behind on 18 titles apiece.
