New Delhi, May 23 (IANS) Iraq’s Water Resources Minister Mohanad Salman Al-Sady Thursday met his Indian counterpart Harish Rawat to discuss proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the area of water management between the two countries.
An official release said the two sides discussed draft of MoU, avenues for training of Iraqi engineers and experts in India and exchange of information relating to water management, irrigation, land reclamation and dams.
The ministerial level meeting was preceded by discussions between delegations led by Ali Hashem Kataa A-Kafaje, director general of Iraq’s National Centre for Management of Water Resources, and Indian Water Resources Secretary S.K. Sarkar.
“It was decided that both the countries will have further discussions before finalizing the MoU,” the release said.
