Bangalore, May 7 (IANS) IT bellwether Infosys Ltd has entered into partnership with enterprise software major SAP (Systems Applications & Products) to develop future versions of mobile applications for the retail sector.
“The new mobile applications on SAP platform will give consumer packaged goods (CAG) companies anytime, anywhere access to salesmen and merchandisers and capture information from field for competitive edge,” Infosys said in a statement here Tuesday.
The global software major has already developed the SAP retail execution mobile application version 3.0 to streamline sales forces of CAG firms and provide data via mobile devices in place of laptops and user inferfaces.
“The application also provides insights to help grow sales and perform in-store activities like surveys, audits, order taking, promotion compliance and other functions,” Infosys global head of SAP practice Rajesh Murthy said in the statement.
The company’s mobility practice has about 2,600 professionals and domain expertise to develop and deploy mobile solutions across industry verticals.
“SAP retail execution helps CPG firms to promote their brand value by increasing compliance and monitoring the success of their new products. Our partnership with SAP creates opportunities for organisations to maximise data their systems generate and improve decision-making,” Murthy added.
