Emergency landing forces closure of Heathrow

London, May 24 (IANS) London’s Heathrow airport closed both its runways Friday morning after an emergency landing. All passengers have been safely evacuated, a media report said.

Witnesses saw flames emitting from one of the engines of the plane, which was flying from London to Oslo. The plane was forced to land soon thereafter, reported Xinhua citing SkyTV.

The airport said all passengers had been safely evacuated.

London fire brigade said the fire on the engine had been put out.
