Rio de Janeiro, May 17 (IANS) Italian football club AS Roma is preparing a bid to sign Brazilian defender Marcos Rocha in July.
Rocha was last year called up to Brazil’s national team after a series of impressive performances for Atletico Mineiro, reports Xinhua.
The 24-year-old right back’s agent, Luciano Brustolini, said Thursday he had heard the reports but denied any contact with the Italian Serie A club over a possible move.
“I just found out now that Roma are interested in Marcos Rocha, but there is nothing to it,” Brustolini said.
This sort of speculation is normal for someone who is playing the way he is. But right now all that Marcos is concentrating on is playing as well as he can for Atletico Mineiro.”
