Jalandhar, April 12 (IANS) Three factory workers here died and at least 30 others were admitted to a hospital after consuming food in the factory premises, police said Friday.
Those killed included factory supervisor Devinder Sharma and two workers, Nirmal Rani and Roshan Kumar.
At least 30 others, including two directors of the factory, Chinar Force Limited, fell seriously ill after consuming the food. They were rushed to a hospital.
The factory is a sister concern of Shital Fibres, owned by industrialist Shital Vij. A building of Shital Fibres had collapsed April last year, killing 23 and injuring many.
Company directors Vani Vij and Shitesh Vij, the wife and son of Shital Vij, were among those who fell ill after eating.
Police said that four people, including canteen contractor R.S. Dhillon and his three cooks, were arrested Friday following the deaths.
