Mumbai, April 1 (IANS) Sarovar Hotels, one of India’s fastest growing hotel management companies, has announced the signing of two more hotels in Gujarat – at Gandhidham and Bhavnagar.
The hotels will be developed under Sarovar Portico brand and will be operational over the next three years.
Sarovar Portico, Gandhidham, will offer 58 rooms and is expected to be operational by 2014, while Sarovar Portico, Bhavnagar, will be a 80 room hotel, slated to open in 2016.
“With the signing of two more hotels, we hope to strengthen our presence in the state and cater to the growing number of visitors to Gujarat. Both leisure tourists and business travelers who visit Gujarat due to its rich cultural heritage and the presence of a large number of industries will be our target customers,” Sarovar Hotels managing director Anil Madhok said.
The hotels are promoted by Akhil Palace Hotels Pvt. Ltd., and Leela Hospitality & Services respectively.
Sarovar Hotels currently enjoy a strong presence in Gujarat with Park Plaza Ahmedabad, Sarovar Portico Ahmedabad and Sarovar Portico Rajkot.
“We believe that a brand like Sarovar Portico has maximum potential to grow in this market as it is an ideal combination of quality and hospitality at an attractive price,” Madhok added.
“Both hotels will offer all modern facilities including a restaurant, lounge, banquet hall, meeting room, swimming pool and other amenities at par with international standards,” a company statement said.
Headed by a team of industry veterans, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts manages and franchises 60 hotels across 40 cities in India and overseas, under the Sarovar Premiere, Sarovar Portico, Hometel, Park Plaza and Park Inn brands. The brands cover the 3, 4 and 5 star spectrum.
Besides, it has plans to open around 22 more hotels across India, including in metros nd two-tier cities.
A few years ago, Sarovar had taken a bold step of setting up a five-star hotel in Goregaon, a middle-class suburb of northwest Mumbai, the Grand Sarovar Premiere.
It now plans to add another property in Mumbai in addition to the existing three in the country’s commercial and one in adjacent Navi Mumbai.
