New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) His ambition to become an underworld don after being inspired by Bollywood movie “Vaastav” led him to crime, but his luck ran out Thursday when he was nabbed by Delhi Police.
Vinod, 19, a robber-cum-auto thief, was arrested with his associate Ranjeet, 19, from west Delhi’s Mundka area Sunday.
“For two years he robbed people all over in Delhi. He was arrested for the first time Sunday afternoon on a tip-off,” Additional Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan said Monday.
“Vinod was inspired by the movie ‘Vaastav’ and wanted to be a don. He was dreaming to go to Mumbai to meet underworld dons,” said Renganathan.
He and Ranjeet used to rob people at gun and knife point.
“If a victim resisted, Vinod used to stab him. His arrest led police to solve a dozen cases of robberies and snatchings,” added the officer.
