Raped minor shifted to Lok Nayak Hospital

New Delhi, April 19 (IANS) The five-year-old girl battling for life after being repeatedly and brutally raped here for two days, was shifted to the Lok Nayak Hospital for treatment, said hospital sources Friday.

“The girl was shifted to Lok Nayak Hospital from Swami Dayanand Hospital, for better treatment,” a source told IANS.

The girl was raped several times by her neighbour, who abducted her April 15 and held her hostage in his flat in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar for over two days, torturing her and depriving her of even water and food, according to police.

The girl was rescued when her family members, who also lived on the premises, heard her screams Wednesday evening.

“Upon examination, we found a 200 ml bottle and two or three pieces of candle inserted into her private parts. This is the first time that I have seen such barbarism with a five-year-old,” R.K. Bansal, medical superintendent, Swami Dayanand Hospital, told reporters.

“There were injuries on her lips and cheeks and bruise marks on her neck, suggesting that attempts were made to strangle her. The blood pressure was way below normal, and she had fever when she was admitted,” he said.
