New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) TV show producers every time introduce fresh faces and Prashant Bhatt says this is because newcomers bring freshness and viewers find it easy to connect with them.
“Taking a new face in the show brings a freshness to the character and the show. The audience does not associate the actor with any other brand,” Bhatt, fiction head of Colors channel, told IANS.
Talking about the channel’s latest offering “Baani – Ishq Ka Kalma”, which has introduced Amritsar-based fashion designing student Shefali Sharma in the title role and Neha Bagga as her cousin Rajji.
“The girl creates her own identity and grows as an actor with the show. The audience also grows with her. The idea was to get a suitable face for the character. We wanted a innocent face, which we found in Shefali,” he said.
Set in Punjab, the show highlights trials and tribulations of those girls who are abandoned by NRI grooms.
Produced by Damini K. Shetty’s Mystic Entertainment, the show also features veteran TV actors Navni Parihar, Suraj Thapar and Rita Bhaduri.
