NCC expedition to Mount Everest flagged off

New Delhi, April 3 (IANS) An NCC mountaineering expedition to Mount Everest was flagged off by Minister of State for Defence Jitendra Singh here Wednesday.

An official release said that Singh congratulated the team members which will reach the base camp, at an altitude of 17,500 feet, April 24.

The attempts to reach the summit will be made between May 15 and May 25.

The team comprising nine NCC cadets and nine service personnel is led by Col S.C. Sharma, a mountaineer who has been on 23 expeditions.
