MPs to take on Bollywood stars in T20 game in Dharamsala

‘In order promote sports in the country’ young Indian Parliamentarians will take on the Mumbai Heroes (a team of Bollywood stars) in a friendly Twenty20 cricket match at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala on May 20.

The friendly cricket match to be organized under the patronage of Constitution Club of India will be an extra spice for cricket fans gripped in IPL fever in Dharamsala and around the country.

HPCA DharamsalaThe Team MPs captain and BJP MP from Hamirpur, HP, Anurag Thakur said, “The match is an initiative to promote sports in the country and we are working to make it an annual affair.”

He said “the proposal is in the initial stage for now and in the future we will think of roping in teams from other walks of life too.”

Anurag, who is also the joint secretary of BCCI said, “All resources raised from the match will be donated to charity.”

The Mumbai Heroes will be lead by captain and Bollywood actor, Sunil Shetty.

Shetty said “Mumbai Heroes and the film fraternity will work closely with the MPs to make the event a success.”

While the Indian parliamentarians’ team will feature former Indian cricketers like Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mohammad Azharuddin and Kirti Azad, the Bollywood team will have the likes of Ritesh Deshmukh, Irrfan Khan and Sohail Khan among other stars.
