Tehran, April 10 (IANS) Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia defeated Iran’s Esteghlal 1-0 in Group D in the 2013 AFC Champions League.
In the match held at Tehran Azadi stadium Tuesday, Nawaf Al-Abid scored the only goal for the visitors 11 minutes before half-time, reports Xinhua.
In another match of the same group, Qatar’s Al-Rayyan snatched a 2-1 win over Al-Ain of the UAE.
After four rounds of matches, Iran’s Esteghlal remains at the top of Group D with seven points, one ahead of Al-Ain, Al-Hilal and Al-Rayyan.
All four teams are in the hunt for a place in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League from Group D.
