New Delhi, April 27 (IANS) The Qualifier I and Eliminator of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) have been shifted from Chennai to Delhi.
Ferozeshah Kotla will host the two matches May 21 and May 22, an IPL release said.
The decision to shift the play-off matches to the Ferozeshah Kotla was taken by the IPL authorities after the Tamil Nadu government failed to stand down on its stand of not allowing Sri Lankan players to turn out in the wake of the anti-Sinhalese sentiments in the state.
The team ranked first at the end of the league stage of the IPL, will play the team ranked second, in Qualifier I. The winner of this match qualifies for the final.
The team ranked third at the end of the league stage, will play the team ranked fourth, in the Eliminator May 22.
The winner of the Eliminator will play the loser of Qualifier 1, in the third playoff (Qualifier 2), at the Eden Gardens May 24.
The final of the Pepsi IPL 2013, between the winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, will be played at the Eden Gardens May 26.
