IIT Delhi to showcase 500 research projects

New Delhi, April 17 (IANS) Five hundred research-based projects will be showcased at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Saturday.

The projects will be displayed at the I2 Tech 2013 Open House. They include innovative projects like sensorchips to detect pesticide residue in milk, multi-functional wheelchairs and earthquake safety of household items, among others.

The biosensor chip will detect pesticides, heavy metal, aflatoxin and bacterial contamination in milk. Milk laboratories will be able to use this chip.

The I2 Tech 2013 Open House provides a unique insight into the research-driven curriculum of IIT Delhi.

“IIT Delhi will throw open its campus to all those who want to sample the innovations happening here,” said IIT Delhi director R.K. Shevgaonkar.

A live display of ground-breaking research projects, developed by students, staff and faculty, and a technical workshop by industry experts besides a guided tour of on-campus laboratories will be some of the highlights of the exhibition.
