Sonepat (Haryana), April 10 (IANS) Hosts Haryana defeated Uttarakhand 12-0 in their opening match of Pool-A on the first day of the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (North Zone) played here Wednesday.
Navneet Kaur scored five goals for Haryana, followed by Preeti (3), Devika Sen (1), Udita (1), Reet (1) and Sukhvinder (1).
In the men’s, Chandigarh registered an easy 5-1 victory over Delhi.
Chandigarh scored through Harmeet Singh (6th, 14th, 48th and 63th minute) and Maninderjeet Singh in the 50th minute while Rahul scored the only goal for Delhi in the 68th minute.
In another match of Pool-A, Uttar Pradesh beat Uttarakhand 4-1. Manish Rajbhar, Amit Singh, Arun Kumar and Abhay scored a goal each for Uttar Pradesh while Sumit Kumar scored the only goal for Uttarakhand.
