Happy to give back to Kolkata, says Shah Rukh

Kolkata, April 4 (IANS) Terming his team Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) victory over Delhi Daredevils (DD) as “wonderful”, an exuberant Shah Rukh Khan said he would do a double somersault if his team wins the Indian Premier League (IPL) again.

Known to his fans as SRK, the KKR team owner felt elated to “return back” to the “city of joy” for the opening match of the sixth edition of the cash rich league.

“It is wonderful that the whole team has fared. They are all here and they have been looking forward to carrying on from where they left off. What makes me happier is that we had the opening ceremony here and the city which has been so kind to us for so many years, we could return back what we are best at, entertainment,” Khan told a TV channel after the match at the Eden Gardens Wednesday.

Khan and Bollywood’s leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif enthralled over 50,000 spectators at a glitzy inaugural ceremony at the Salt Lake Stadium Tuesday.

The superstar celebrated KKR’s emphatic six-wicket win over a depleted DD with a victory lap with Deepika in tow.

“I get so much happiness and love from the city of joy. I have experienced a lot of goodness and niceness in life but what I get in Kolkata, KKR gets in Kolkata, all our friends, my children, our family, the whole KKR team – we feel so happy. I think we owe it to the city that we share some joy some energy whatever little in our small way we do,” Khan said.
