New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) The Congress Friday took a dig at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, equating him with the “harbinger of death” while responding on his prime ministerial ambitions.
“If Rahul was hinting at Modi (during interaction with industry leaders), it would not be a horse but a bull,” Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters while comparing Modi to Yamraj (the harbinger of death in Hindu mythology who comes riding a buffalo).
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had Thursday said that no one should expect that a person would come riding a horse and solve all the problems of the country.
Alvi also referred to the 2002 Gujarat riots while taking a swipe at Modi, considered a contender for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial nominee.
“If Modi wants to pay back his debt to the nation by being in Delhi, we would rather pray to god,” said Alvi.
