As part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations, a ‘Surya Namaskar’ programme was organized in Solan on Monday 18 February 2013. On this occasion more than 500 students of various schools and colleges of Solan participated in this event and performed ‘Surya Namaskar’. The function was held in auditorium of Sanskrit College, Solan.
Swami Shivasevanand ji – the President of Dev Bhumi Trust of Sadhupul and Uday Mittal – Assistant Professor of Bahra University inaugurated the function by lighting the lamps.
While appreciating the efforts of the teachers of schools and colleges, the Chief Guest –Swami Shivasevanand ji said that Suryanamaskar is one of the best physical exercises inthe world that helps in improving both physical and mental health.
The guest of honour – Uday Mittal of Bahra University told students that by reading andunderstanding the teachings of Swami Vivekanand ji, they can not only increase their self-confidence, but it also helps in shedding away all fears from the mind.
