Snow, rain forecast in north western Himalayan belt

Shimla : A dip in temperatures and a cast sky has raised hopes of rain and snow in the week ahead that also had the weatherman issue an warning about isolated places in middle and high hills likely to get heavy snow and rain on the 13th and 14th December.

Starting tomorrow, for the next three days, isolated places in the higher hills are likely to receive snow whereas much of the mid and low hills will get rain accompanied by thundershower at places, a weather forecast communiqué stated.

The weatherman has also issued an advisory about heavy rain and snow forecast for isolated places in middle and high hills on 13th and 14th.

A Western Disturbance (W.D) as an upper air system lies over north Pakistan and neighbourhood. A trough in lover levels extends from southeast Arabian sea to east central Arabian sea, says the met office.

In the past 24 hours, the weather was mainly dry over the hills of Himachal Pradesh with the mercury at Keylong in Lahaul touching a low of Minus 4.6 degree Celsius and at Una, it was recorded at a high of 25.8 degree Celsius.

No rain or snow was recorded at any of the weather stations in the state in the past 24 hours. At Shimla, the day’s high touched 15.4 degree Celsius and the day’s low was 4.3 degree Celsius.
