Manali: A minor orphaned girl repeatedly sexually abused by her maternal uncle has sent shock waves through Kullu-Manali valley and the police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit after registering a case.
Deputy Superintendent Police (DySP) Sanjay Chauhan said that the minor girl aged 13, whose parents had died sometime back was living with her elder sister at her grandparents’ house in Bashkola village in Katrain, 22 Km from Manai.
For the past few months she was being sexually abused by her maternal uncle Fateh Chand. It was only after she became pregnant that she narrated her case of sexual abuse to the family.
Medical examination of the girl has confirmed the pregnancy and sexual abuse, said the police officer.
A case under sections 376, 506 of Indian Penal Code have been registered and the police are on the lookout for nabbing the culprit, he added.
