Jammu: Scholars, businesspersons and others from Pakistan administered Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir today began a three-day meeting to discuss issues concerning people from the two sides and suggest ways to resolve them.
According to Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR) New Delhi, the organiser of the meeting: “The dialogue is aimed at bringing together members of civil society from both sides of the LoC to discuss common concerns and joint initiatives for strengthening peace and widening the peace constituency.”
The three-day conference brings together prominent citizens from both sides of the Line of Control (LoC), that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
“The conference will explore ways to strengthen the scope of people to people contact across the LoC, explore ways to strengthen current CBMs (confidence building measures) and partnerships across the LoC among people working in different fields,” said Y.V. Sharma, president of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
