Shimla: A blood donation camp was organized by the Art of Living organization in collaboration with the Living Treasure, a public welfare trust today in Shimla.
The camp was organized for the Kamala Nehru Hospital, Shimla with the help of energetic and dedicated students from Nursing College Annandale; Shimla. As many as forty one enthusiastic blood donors gathered today to support the cause.
Not only the locals but tourists from the states of Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi also donated blood. Most of the donors, including girls, were in the age group of 18 to 28 years.
According to Mr.Sarabteet Singh, one of the organizers of the camp; the main objective to organize this blood collection camp was to address the acute shortage of blood in the blood banks in Shimla and meet the requirements of the patients.
He also informed Hill Post that many more blood camps are scheduled for the coming months. Blood donation camps are being organized by the AOL Foundation from time to time in the state. With young people joining the cause, spreading awareness among the masses is going to be one of the major objectives of these blood donation camps.
