Srinagar: Separatist leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani condemned the attack on a 14-year-old schoolgirl Malala Yusufzai in Pakistan by the Taliban.
“It is highly condemnable. We cannot tolerate this. This is anti Islamic. The people who have done it are cowards. They are enemies of Islam and humanity’, Geelani said while releasing second part of his autobiography, ‘On the banks of Wullar’ at his party headquarters in Hyderpora here.
However he praised Taliban based in Afghanistan, “they are fighting against the American occupation of their land. They must take bold steps to protect their motherland from American invaders”, he said.
Yusufzai, the young girl was accused by Taliban of being pro west and criticizing Taliban.
A Taliban spokesman, Ehsanulla Ehsan had confirmed their hand in the attack and said, “She was pro-West, she was speaking against the Taliban and she was calling President Obama her idol.” He added, “She was young but she was promoting Western culture in Pashtun areas.”
Hours after surgeons removed a bullet from his daughter’s neck; Ziaddun Yousafzai said that he finds no reason to leave his country and seek asylum overseas.On the other hand, family of the 14-year-old girl shot by the Taliban say the assassination attempt will not force them to flee Pakistan or silence their daughter’s criticism of extremists.
The doctors are still unsure of medical condition of the young girl even after the bullet has been pulled out of her neck.
