Shimla: With most election candidates counting upon waiting for more auspicious moments to enter their nominations, four candidates filed their papers today taking the total number of candidates who in four days have filed their papers to 16.
Those who filed their nominations today include Sushil Kumar, an independent candidate from Bhattiyat, Naveen Dhiman, as a Himachal Lokhit party (HLP) candidate from Jaswan-Pragpur, Ms Rama Mahendra from Palampur and Bhagat Singh Bahlwal from Arki constituency.
Others who have filed their nomination till date include, Raj Kumar, an independent from Una, Inder Singh as BJP candidate from Balh, Anil Sharma as Congress candidate from Mandi Sadar, Narayan Singh as covering candidate from Mandi Sadar, Dinesh Kumar as Himachal Swabhiman Party (HLM) candidate from Jaswan-Pragpur, Ramesh Dutt as a Shiv Sena Hindustan party candidate from Fatehpur seat, Amin Chand as an independent candidate from Sujanpur, Naresh Pal as independent candidate from Dharamshala seat, Pawan Kumar as independent candidate from Arki and Kishore Kumar as independent candidate from Sarkhghat constituency.
Durga Dutt has entered the fray from Mandi Sadar seat as a BJP candidate and Nand Lal filed his papers as a HLP candidate from Anni seat.
Chief electoral officer Narinder Chauhan said that the last date for filing nomination was 17 October, 2012, scrutiny would be done on 18 October and last date for withdrawal of candidature was 20 October.
Polling would be held on 4 November, 2012 between 8.00 AM to 5.00PM and counting of votes would be done on 20th December, 2012 from 8.00AM. Election process will be completed by 24th December, 2012, he added.
