New Delhi: Rebecca Logein Benn, a sports teacher from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has won the title of Mrs.India World Wide 2012. A mother of two, she says this is her “first step towards glamour” and that she will now pursue “acting and modelling”.
Rebecca, 37, came to the top spot after beating 20 other contestants, who had participated from all around the country, in the finale held here Saturday.
“You feel proud when you win such a prestigious award in a country like India. I gave my level best and came to the top eight,” said Rebecca and added that she was not “thinking about winning”, but “kept moving forward”.
“I always dreamt of winning a title from my childhood. I took this competition as a challenge to achieve my dream,” she said.
She has two children – 7-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son. Her husband is a doctor by profession.
The 37-year-old makes it a point to keep herself in shape and said: “I give a lot of attention to my diet and avoid over-eating. I also go to gym to keep myself fit.”
Organised by Sri Sai Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the contest was judged by eminent television personalities like actress Aditi Gowarikar, Sara Khan, Nawabshah and Hasleen Kuar amongst others.

“This is the first step towards glamour… I am definitely going for acting and modelling after this,” Rebecca said.
There was a tie for the first runner-up title and it was awarded to Nisha Sharma from Delhi, and Preeti Singh from Mumbai.
Nagpur-based Sareeka Sapra was declared the second runner-up.
