Jammu: Five people were killed and about a dozen others were injured Friday when a minibus in which they were travelling fell into a deep gorge in Jammu’s Doda district, police said.
The bus was travelling from Bhaderwah town in Doda district to the district headquarters and tumbled down the gorge near Serri, about 170 km from here.
While five people died on the spot, the injured were rushed to the government hospital in Doda.
The condition of five of the injured is stated to be serious.
“They are being airlifted to Jammu,” an official said.
“It appears that the driver lost control while negotiating a deep curve,” a police official said.
