Shimla: Students from Fayetteville State University, North Carolina, United States of America, on a study visit to Himachal Pradesh interacted with chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to know about steps taken to protect environment, improve health standards and agriculture productivity in hilly terrains.
Dhumal let the visiting students know about the state having effectively banned plastic carry bags across the state, which included cups and plates made of plastics.
With the group headed to Kinnaur and Spiti valley, the chief minister said that the visit would acquaint them with the harsh topography and living lifestyle in a high altitude environment and how the state authorities have to work to meet the needs of the people in such areas.
