Shimla: Himachal Pradesh University is going to start a course on archaeology to preserve the civilization of the hill state, Governor Urmila Singh said here Sunday.
“Work is in progress for starting a course in archaeology, which would go a long way in preserving the remnants of historic civilization and memorials of this beautiful hill state,” she said at the inauguration of the 43rd foundation day function of the university.
She said a professional course for tourist guides was also being considered to strengthen tourism-related activities in the state.
“The proposed courses are employment-oriented and would prove beneficial to the youth,” the governor added.
