Mandi: Six pilgrims including two children died in a car accident, yesterday, when the Indica car they were traveling in lost control and fell 300 feet down the hill near Kunitbhyao village of Rewalsar. One woman survived with severe injuries.
The vehicle HR 10J 2700 was said to be returning after visiting the holy temple of Mata Naina Devi when the accident occurred.
The vehicle is said to have lost control when the driver attempted to negotiate a sharp curve.
The injured woman has been identified as Heam Devi and in a critical condition is admitted to zonal hospital Mandi.
Those who died in the accident have been identified as Padma Devi, her 16 years old son Pankaj, Bhupinder, his wife Hemkanta and their 7 months old son Amul Driver Raghuveer also was killed in the fatal accident.
When information reached the district administration, a rescue and relief team was immediately sent to the accident site, said a state government official.
