Dharamsala: Union minister Virbhadra Singh hit at detractors in the party saying that not enough efforts have been made to oust the Prem Kumar Dhumal led BJP government in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Virbhadra who has been a five time chief minister of Himachal said that the BJP government had hatched a conspiracy to entangle him in the CD case.
“If my guilt is proven in court in the case, I will resign from the ministry after due consultation with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi,” he said.
He said that the BJP government getting prizes in many fields was all because of the hard work done by earlier Congress governments to take the state to this position.
The BJP government was in fact busy in eliminating the development done by the Congress governments, he added.
Referring to the Kangra Central University, the union minister said that should Congress come to power, the state government would ensure that the prestigious central university is at one place and not at the planned two campuses at Dharamsala and Dehra, which are 45 kms apart.
Virbhadra said that should the high command entrust him with the responsibility for the Himachal general assembly election, he would see to it that the BJP government is dislodged from the state.
When the Congress defeat in the recent Shimla Municipal Elections was pointed out the minister laid the blame at wrong distribution of tickets.
“Such mistakes would not be repeated in the upcoming assembly elections,” said Virbhadra.
