Shimla: A rape convict, out of parole, was arrested by the police on today for the crime of having snatched two mobile phones for a girl’s hand.
Yesterday Shashi Sharma, a resident of New Flower Dale locality registered a complaint about an unknown man having run away after snatching the phones from her hand near her house, a police spokesman said.
On investigating the case, police zero down on Manoj, a convict in a rape case who has been undergoing a ten year jail sentence for the crime. The convict was out on parole these days, said the spokesman.
Manoj is accused of snatching the phones on Tuesday and we arrested him from the Dhobi Ghat area in Chhota Shimla, police said.
