AISA candidates were elected the president, vice-president, general secretary and joint secretary of the union, Election Committee chairperson Prabodhan Arvind said.
AISA’s Sucheta De is the new president of JNUSU, Arvind said.
Abhishek Yadav bagged the vice president’s post while Ravi Prasad and Mohd Firoz were elected general secretary and joint secretary respectively.
“We also won 14 of the 16 councillor posts we contested,” an elated De said .
Voting for the union took place March 1 after a gap of over four years.
The Supreme Court had suspended the JNUSU election in 2008, citing violations of the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations on student elections.
In the last election in 2007-08 too AISA won all four main union posts.
