Shimla : There was no relief from the relentless cold Thursday despite bright sunshine . People in Himachal Pradesh’s two most popular tourist resorts of Shimla and Manali had a shivering morning .
The minimum temperatures in the state capital Shimla was freezing (zero celcius) , three notches below normal .
While in snow covered Manali the mercury fell to minus 3 C. Manali is still trying to limp back to normal three days after it experienced 4 feet of snowfall .
The state’s sprawling tribal belt continues to be in the grip of arctic like conditions . In Kalpa , headquarters of Kinnaur district the minimum temperature was minus 6.2 C. While Keylong the only town in Lahaul & Spiti recorded a bone chilling minus 12 C .
Much of Kinnaur , Lahaul & Spiti , Pangi and Dodra Kwar remain cut off from the rest of the country .
