PPP to pitch Bhagwant Mann against Rajinder Kaur Bhattal

Chandigarh: Going for senior congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal got tuff on Lehra assembly seat as Bhagwant Mann, popular comedian and vice-president People’s Party of Punjab, decided to throw in his hat from there.

Mann let the media know that though the constituents of Sunam and Maur had approached him as their candidate but, “I will contest from Lehra as may party leadership desires so.”

However, PPP is still to sort out the seat adjustment with CPI as Lehra as part of an pre-poll alliance had been marked for the communist party, who had even announced the candidature of Satwant Singh Khandewad.

Adopting a strategy of pitching front line leaders against important Congress and SAD leaders, PPP has decided to request CPI leadership to let Mann contest the election against Bhattal.
