Amritsar: With the going getting tough for the ruling BJP-SAD coalition, chief minister Prakash Singh Badal has let it be known that winning prospects and loyalty would be the main criteria’s for selecting candidates in the upcoming assembly election.
Chief Minister Badal let reporters know yesterday at Gurusar Satlani that Shiromani Akali Dal would allot tickets within a month.
“The exercise would be completed at an appropriate time after holding due consultations with senior leadership of the party,†he said.
Banking on the alliance with BJP, he added that both parties were firm in their alliance and would contest the elections together.
However, he did not rule a new seat arrangement for contesting the polls.
Keeping the winning prospects of candidates in mind, senior leadership of both parties would decide upon a fresh seat sharing arrangement, he said.
