Srinagar : Separatist guerrilla outfit Jamait-ul-Mujahideen (JUM) Monday owned responsibility for the attack on Jammu and Kashmir minister Ali Muhammad Sagar in Srinagar.
In a statement sent to news organisations JUM spokesman Jameel Ahmad said the attack on law and parliamentary affairs minister Sagar on Sunday was carried out by Al-Jabar squad of the group.
A body guard of the minister was killed while two bodyguards and a civilian were injured in the attack on the minister in the old city . The minister was unhurt.
Security has already been beefed up in the city and other parts of the valley after the incident .
The minister had gone to attend a social function at Nawa Bazar his ancestral place when the attack took place .
