Shimla: Rash driving by a private local bus operator crushed a 48 year old lady to death, in the morning hours today, as she was de-boarding from another bus, on the Cart Road near the High Court area.
The dead lady was identified as Santosh. Police investigator Rattan Kumar said that the private local bus HP-63-2723, which was attempting to overtake another private local bus no HP-63-2370, from the wrong side crushed the lady in between.
While driver of bus responsible for crushing the lady, ran away from the spot, the driver of the other bus and the two conductors have been detained for questioning.
A look out party has been sent to arrest the missing driver, said the police spokesman. The accident is said to have taken place at about 11 a.m.
