Shimla : Lakhs of BSNL mobile customers in Himachal Pradesh have been given a jolt as the company has abruptly changed its popular Himpower STV-175 mobile plan .
Launched about a year ago this prepaid plan offered free unlimited calling to BSNL mobile , landline and WLL phones in Himachal Pradesh .
But the revised plan posted on the BSNL website Wednesday says now free unlimited calling under STV 175 will be only to BSNL mobiles .
Customers under this plan will now have to pay for making calls to BSNL landline and WLL numbers which until now were free .
The earlier plan was tailored to lower the cost of mobility for high end users offering free unlimited local calls to BSNL networks , including free local and national SMS and free incoming roaming up to 30000 seconds.
With a validity of one month STV-175 will continue to offer Rs 100 talk time .
BSNL’s STV 175 plan has been very popular with customers in the state , but after its modification customers could switch over to other mobile networks .
There are a dozen mobile networks in the state . BSNL and Airtel are the leaders , both claim be to be ahead of the other .
